Encore Academy was founded in 2011 by Helen Knight (on the right) & Jodi Crump (on the left). They worked for many years in both the theatre and television industries. They then decided to combine their talent, their passion and experience to form Encore Academy. Both Helen & Jodi believe every child deserves a chance to shine in a fun and friendly environment.
Helen & Jodi met at school where their love for singing and dancing brought them together. They joined a twin agency. They got work including a promotional video for Harrods in London. This opportunity led to many more promotional videos for other various television adverts.
JODI CRUMP
Jodi is a professionally trained performer. She honed her craft at the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After graduating, she embarked on a successful career spanning over a decade as a professional dancer. She earned an impressive range of credits in theatre, television, and live entertainment.
Her theatre experience includes performing in renowned productions such as Spirit of the Dance. She worked as a dance captain for The Osmonds Show and Disney Spectacular in Rome. She also choreographed and danced for Circus Hilarious. Jodi was a dance captain in many Qdos pantomimes. She was also a featured dancer in The Freddie Starr Show.
In television, her credits include appearances on ITV’s Scratchy and Co Ice Cream Review. She appeared on Our Tune Story on BBC’s Good Morning. She also performed as a backing dancer for Simply Red at the Brit Awards.
Jodi’s career also extended to live sports entertainment. She performed as part of the London Monarchs Cheerleading Squad. Jodi captivated audiences at matches held at Crystal Palace and Wembley. Her diverse background, exceptional talent, and passion for performance have established her as a versatile and accomplished artist.
HELEN KNIGHT
Helen began her training in musical theatre at the prestigious BRIT School. She then continued her education at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. She spent three years developing her craft. While her training covered all aspects of the performing arts, Helen’s true passion has always been singing.
Her career as a vocalist saw her performing with various bands, most notably as a member of Part III. During this time, Helen dedicated countless hours in the studio recording an album that was eventually white-labeled. She toured extensively across the country as Agnetha in an ABBA tribute band. She also performed in touring shows for Qdos. These performances showcased her versatile talents on stage.
In addition to her musical achievements, Helen appeared in numerous adverts throughout her career. She later joined forces with Jodi on a touring show, blending her passion for performance with love of singing. Helen’s rich experiences and dedication has cemented her as a dynamic and accomplished artist.
